One of “those” days

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Part of the drain pipe under the kitchen sink came apart this afternoon.  When  my daughter drained the sink after doing the dishes, water went everywhere.

It was easy enough to fix, thankfully.  Just one of “those” challenging days.

E-mail working again

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Thanks to some geeks who did work finding out which resolvers were working and which were not, I was able to find ones that worked for the Baptist Ministries server, so e-mail is runn ing again.  Many of the ones that the host previously told us were working and available for our use simply were not working.  I’m assuming there are some firewall, overload, or network issues somewhere.  Anyway, I’m glad to have e-mail working again.

We have picked up a 99 Dodge Caravan.  We couldn’t be without.  I’ve got a funeral to do, church this weekend, got to take a fellow from the church to New Jersey next week.  Being without a vehicle is just no option.  Unfortunately, we have payments on this one.  The last one we owned free and clear.

Discouraging news from the garage

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

We had our minivan in the garage for an estimate on repairs.  They say it would cost more to fix it than to buy a new one.  Struts.  Strut mounts.  Exhaust.  Brake hardware.  Rear shocks.   Brake lines.  Rocker panels (whatever those are).  It’s disappointing, because we have just been talking about how to swing having two vehicles.  I’m on the road so much some days that it creates great difficulty for my wife trying to get done the things she needs to do.  But now it looks like we’re going to be with one vehicle.
